I keep seeing these great front door decorations on Pinterest.

I wanted to try to make some paper bats myself. I grabbed some black cardstock from the craft store and downloaded a template from the Martha Stewart Website. I only used the first page of the template. I was looking for smaller bats like in the second photo not the larger hanging ones.
They can never be as perfect as seen on Martha Stewart, but I was happy
with them. I can't wait to see what they look like a night.

Paper Mache Jack O Lanterns - Halloween Project
Our attempt at Paper Mache...
We started with balloons, flour, water, craft glue, newspaper and a variety of orange paints.
My 5 year old was in charge of all the gross stuff - mixing and dipping the newpaper in the flour mixture.
We hung them on the clothesline. It was a breezy, sunny day so it didn't take long to dry.
Then the fun part - popping the balloon!
Both of the boys had a blast painting...
Final product. I think they did a pretty good job. They kinda of look like the vintage paper mache candy containers. All I can say is they had a lot of fun.
